ABSTRACT
Metabolism of steroids in healthy and unhealthy human organs is the subject extensive clinical biomedical studies. For this kind investigations, it essential that reference samples new derivatives natural, physiologically active (especially those difficult to achieve chemical synthesis) become available. This study demonstrated for first time transformation 7‐oxo‐ DHEA —a natural metabolite , using Syncephalastrum racemosum cells. The single‐pulse fermentation substrate produced two hydroxy metabolites: 1β,3β‐dihydroxy‐androst‐5‐en‐7,17‐dione 3β,12β‐dihydroxy‐androst‐5‐en‐7,17‐dione, along with earlier reported 3β,9α‐dihydroxy‐androst‐5‐en‐7,17‐dione 3β,17β‐dihydroxy‐androst‐5‐en‐7‐one. Simultaneously, same metabolites, together small quantities 7α‐ 7β‐hydroxy‐ as well products their reduction at C‐17 were obtained after under pulse‐feeding substrate. observed reactions suggested micro‐organism contains enzymes exhibiting similar activity present Thus, resulting compounds can be considered potential components eukaryotic, including human, metabolome.
