ABSTRACT
The SQ tree SLIT-tablet (containing birch extract) proved clinically significant effects during the pollen season for as well alder/hazel. Immune outcomes of this treatment allergens from multiple homologous trees need further investigation. We hypothesize that extract AIT modulates a highly cross-reactive immune response and may be basis observed clinical cross-protection.Blood samples were collected 397 allergic patients or placebo (1:1) up to 40 weeks. Serum IgE IgG4 specific birch, pollens alder, hazel, hornbeam, beech chestnut measured by ImmunoCAP. IgE-Blocking Factor (IgE-BF) hazel was Advia Centaur blocking all these investigated basophil activation (BAT). Antibody readouts in patient subsets. T-cell responses (proliferation) allergen extracts peptide pools (group 1 allergens) lines 29 untreated pollen-allergic individuals.Significant Pearson correlations between serum towards hornbeam (r-values > .86). reactivity throughout group. Almost identical kinetics changes alder similar species-specific seen serum-IgG4 . correlated significantly at end-of-treatment .72). Treatment resulted IgE-BF BAT most actively treated investigated.Systematic analyses antibody cross-reactivities before provide immunological effect allergy induced
