ABSTRACT
Periodontitis is the main indication for dental extraction and often leads to peri-implantitis (PI). Alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) an effective means of preserving dimensions after extraction. However, whether PI prevalence lower ARP periodontitis remains unclear. This study investigated in patients with periodontitis. This explored 138 implants 113 patients. The reasons were categorized as or nonperiodontitis. All placed at sites treated using ARP. was diagnosed on basis radiographic bone loss ≥3 mm, determined through comparison standardized bitewing radiographs obtained immediately insertion those least 6 months. Chi-square two-sample t testing generalized estimating equations (GEE) logistic regression model employed identify risk factors PI. Statistical significance indicated by p < 0.05.The overall 24.6% (n = 34). GEE univariate demonstrated that implant types significantly associated (premolar vs. molar: crude odds ratios [OR] 5.27, 95% confidence intervals [CI] 2.15-12.87, 0.0003; level tissue level: OR 5.08, CI 2.10-12.24; 0.003, respectively). After adjustment confounding factors, risks adjusted [AOR] 4.62, 1.74-12.24; 0.002) (bone AOR 6.46, 1.67-25.02; 0.007). reason extraction-that is, nonperiodontitis-was not PI.ARP reduces incidence periodontitis-related sites. To address limitations our study, consistent prospective randomized controlled trials are warranted.
