ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Glycine powder air‐polishing ( GPAP ) has the potential to effectively erase biofilms and may improve treatment efficacy of peri‐implant mucositis. This pilot clinical trial evaluated effect as an adjunct in treating Materials methods Twenty‐four subjects having at least one implant with mucositis were randomly assigned test (12 17 implants) control 16 groups. Following baseline assessment, all received oral hygiene instruction non‐surgical debridement. In group, sites probing depth PD ≥4 mm additionally treated by for 5 sec. Clinical parameters measured 1‐week, 1‐month, 3‐month recall visits. Results At visit, mean reductions site level 0.93 ± 0.91 0.98 groups, respectively P < 0.05), no significant difference existed between two Mean bleeding score was also significantly reduced both groups after intervention. No complications or discomfort reported during study. Conclusions suggests that mechanical debridement mucositis, adjunctive seems have a limited beneficial compared alone. However, further trials large sample size are needed confirm this preliminary observation.
