ABSTRACT
Abstract Decades of research and policy interventions on biodiversity have insufficiently addressed the dual issues degradation social justice. New approaches are therefore needed. We devised a action agenda that calls for collective task revisiting toward goal sustaining diverse just futures life Earth. Revisiting involves critically reflecting past present research, policy, practice concerning to inspire creative thinking about future. The was developed through 2‐year dialogue process involved close 300 experts from disciplines locations. This informed by science insights show is underpinned choices how problems conceptualized. Recognizing knowledge, action, ethics as inseparable, we synthesized set principles help navigate biodiversity. articulates 4 thematic areas future research. First, researchers need revisit narratives challenging conceptualizations exclude diversity entrench separation humans, cultures, economies, societies nature. Second, should focus relationships between Anthropocene, biodiversity, culture considering humanity tied together in specific contexts.
