ABSTRACT
Summary Background Thiurams and dithiocarbamates are structurally related sensitizing rubber accelerators. Objectives To study patterns of simultaneous patch test reactions to thiurams at the Finnish Institute Occupational Health in 1991–2015. Methods We searched files for patients with allergic thiuram mix, its four components, three dithiocarbamates, analysed these substances. Results found 155 who reacted positively least one or dithiocarbamate chemical series. Thirty‐four (22%) some derivatives. Twenty‐one zinc dimethyldithiocarbamate, 20 diethyldithiocarbamate, 1 dibutyldithiocarbamate. All dithiocarbamate‐allergic thiurams, their were often strong extreme positive. Nine mix turned out be false‐positive reactions, without constituents, 24 showed false‐negative during same time period. Conclusions Dithiocarbamate contact allergy was always connected allergy. Screening carba thus appears unnecessary, but ways improve present should investigated. Meanwhile, individual best diagnosing
