ABSTRACT
Abstract Aim The aim of this work was to estimate the prevalence iron deficiency in patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer (CRC) and clarify its association patient‐ tumour‐related characteristics. Method This a single‐centre registry‐based cohort study. Iron status routinely evaluated upon diagnosis CRC, these data were coupled tumour‐specific from Danish CRC Group Registry (2013–2018). Data analysed using multivariate logistic regression. Results Out 846 patients, 543 (64%) deficient. There an between increasing depth invasion deficiency, odds ratios (ORs) being 2.8 ( p = 0.001, CI 1.5–5.1), 4.22 < 2.48–7.18) 4.63 2.30–9.34) for T‐stages 2, 3 4, respectively. Right‐sided tumours had OR 3.54 2.22–5.67) compared left‐sided tumours. Tumours through national screening programme less likely be associated (OR 0.34, 0.22–0.52), while female gender increase 1.91, 1.33–2.76). prevalent 88% anaemic 43% nonanaemic patients. Conclusion highly CRC. Increased tumour invasion, right‐sided location all higher lower deficiency. A large proportion normal haemoglobin also
