ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Background Right ventricular (RV) diastolic function and right atrial (RA) are poorly characterized in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), but may influence exercise capacity. We aimed to evaluate RA RV OSAS study their relationship Methods Fifty‐three thirty age‐ gender‐matched controls prospectively underwent echocardiography cardiopulmonary testing investigate function, Results Altered severe was indicated by the increased tricuspid valve E/e′ ratio (TV E/e′), isovolumic relaxation time (IVRT), reduced TDI e′ velocity. The TV correlated modestly peak VO 2 ( r = −0.334, p < 0.01). Patients exhibited impaired total emptying fraction, passive reservoir strain (RARS), RARS being associated oxygen uptake (VO ) 0.451, 0.01 for function). Conclusion correlation of capacity suggests that it be important this population.
