ABSTRACT
It is challenging to assess patients with blepharospasm (BSP) and hemifacial spasm (HFS) as these exhibit a wide range of amplitudes eyelid movements. In order quantify movements, mathematical algorithm, i.e. Fast Fourier Transform, can be employed convert the signal from time domain frequency domain. The result this quantification represents energy generated during objectively therapeutic effects botulinum toxin (BoNT) in patients, we evaluated by upper spontaneous movements before after treatment.A total 39 BSP HFS were 30 days receiving onabotulinum A injections. high-speed camera micro light-emitting diodes used register obtained using Transform permitted assessment activity associated movements. We studied 78 eyelids. was significantly reduced treatment (P = 0.0018) on affected side 0.0058).The enabled us measure BoNT conditions. use system could enable customized fine adjustments doses based each patient's needs.
