ABSTRACT
Abstract Background and purpose The aim of this study was to determine the contributions background disorders responsible for participation restriction as indexed by a structured interview modified Rankin Scale (mRS‐SI). Methods A subset 256 patients assessed at 6 months after stroke using National Institutes Health Stroke (NIHSS), gait score, comprehensive cognitive battery (yielding global Z‐score), behavioral dysexecutive (DDs), anxiety depressive symptoms, epilepsy, headache. Following bivariate analyses, determinants were selected ordinal regression analysis with partial odds. Results Poststroke (mRS‐SI score > 1) observed in 59% patients. In mRS‐SI associated prestroke 6‐month NIHSS Z‐score, DDs, presence depression (all: p = 0.0001; epilepsy: =0.3; headache: 0.7). After logistic analysis, increasing ( 0.00001). Prestroke 0.00001), DDs 0.0008) Z‐score 0.01) both 1 2. addition, 2 This model classified 85% scores correctly 0.001). Structural equation modeling showed limitation (standardized coefficient [SC]: 0.68; 0.01), (SC: 0.41; severity neurological impairment 0.16; −0.14; 0.05), 0.13; 0.01). Conclusion These results provide statistical weights poststroke highlight new independent determinant: DDs.
