ABSTRACT
Using family systems and attachment theory frameworks, this study identified specific dimensions of the parent–adolescent relationship examined association between those adolescent depression delinquency, parental 2 years later in a racially ethnically diverse sample. Parent–adolescent relationships were using person‐centered approach, latent profile analysis, closeness, communication, conflict, autonomy as relationship. The analysis produced four‐profile solution, which was labeled secure, avoidant, anxious, detached. Next, parent outcomes examined. Results indicated that adolescents detached exhibited highest amount whereas parents lowest depression. Adolescents avoidant also high levels symptoms. No differences found for Implications interventions are discussed.
