Association between frequency of oral and denture cleaning and personality in edentulous older adults

ABSTRACT
Aim The purpose of the present study was to clarify relationship between frequency oral and denture cleaning personality in edentulous older adults. Methods Participants were 54 adults using maxillary mandibular complete dentures without any problems. A questionnaire used establish mechanical a brush. survey carried out based on E ysenck's factors introversion/extroversion emotional stability/instability. Stepwise logistic regression analyses identify which characteristic significantly associated with or after all participants categorized into two groups by cleaning, accordance criterion median. Results mean frequencies 0.93 ± 1.18 times per day 1.83 1.19 day, respectively. Activity/inactivity, factor relating introversion/extroversion, (odds ratio 2.473, P = 0.001). anaclisis/autonomy, stability/instability, 1.310, 0.001; odds 1.392, 0.011, respectively). Conclusions showed that including activity/inactivity anaclisis/autonomy influence cleaning. These findings suggest necessity providing an effective method health care each person's personality.
