ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Astrocytes, the most prevalent type of glial cells, have been found to play a crucial part in numerous physiological functions. By offering metabolic and structural support, astrocytes are vital for proper functioning brain regulating information processing synaptic transmission. Astrocytes located medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) highly responsive environmental changes associated with development disorders. One primary mechanisms through which responds factors is epitranscriptome modification. M6‐methyladenosine methylation internal modification eukaryotic messenger RNA (mRNA), it significantly impacts transcript protein synthesis. However, effects m6A on astrocyte transcription function still not well understood. Our research demonstrates that ALKBH5, an demethylase astrocytes, affects gene expression mPFC. These findings suggest further investigation into potential role astrocyte‐mediated mPFC warranted.
