ABSTRACT
Objective To see the interrelation between chronic tension‐type headache (CTTH) and serum vitamin D levels. Background Several studies have suggested an association pain deficiency. Anecdotal evidence suggests that deficiency may be associated with migraine. Methods This case‐control study was carried out to examine CTTH 25‐hydroxy (25(OH) D) One hundred consecutive adult (>18 years) patients 100 matched healthy controls were enrolled. Results The 25(OH) levels significantly lower in than (14.7 vs 27.4 ng/mL). prevalence of (serum 25 (OH) < 20 ng/mL) greater (71% 25%). had a high musculoskeletal (79% 57%), muscle weakness (29%vs 10%), tenderness score (7.5 1.9), bone (3.0 0.8) comparison controls. deficient group (<20 higher (58% 31%), (38%vs 7%), score, fatigue (44% 17%) more prolonged course (15.5 months 11.2 months). A strong positive correlation noted total ( R 2 = 0. 7365) 6293). Conclusion Decreased 25(OHD) concentration CTTH. Intervention are required find if supplementation is effective
