ABSTRACT
The goal of the study was to evaluate efficacy and safety balloon-occluded transarterial chemoembolization (B-TACE) hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using miriplatin (a lipophilic anticancer drug) gelatin particles.B-TACE performed for 62 HCC nodules in 33 patients who could not be treated by surgical resection or radiofrequency ablation. All had a history (TACE) treatment prior B-TACE. As historical comparison, we investigated 40 28 TACE conventional microcatheter (C-TACE), particles. therapeutic effect per tumor compared between groups based on Response Evaluation Criteria Cancer Study Group Japan (RECICL) side-effects were Common Terminology Adverse Events (ver. 4.0).The after 4-12 weeks evaluated 59 B-TACE group 37 C-TACE group. Of these nodules, TE4 occurred 29 (49.2%) 10 (27%) Local significantly higher than C-TACE. hepatic function similar two groups. Our results suggest that with is useful carcinoma.
