ABSTRACT
Objectives The aims of the study were to describe prevalence obesity in Pharmacokinetic and Clinical Observations People over Fifty (POPPY) cohort, identify demographic, clinical HIV‐specific factors associated with obesity, characterize association between sociodemographic, quality life (QoL). Methods A cross‐sectional analysis was carried out baseline data from three groups [“older” people HIV infection (PWH) aged ≥ 50 years, “younger” PWH < years HIV‐negative controls years] within POPPY cohort. Obesity defined as a body mass index (BMI) > 30 kg/m 2 . Results total 1361 subjects included study, whom 335 (24.6%) obese. higher (22.3%) than older (16.8%) younger (14.2%) PWH, no differences two PWH.
