ABSTRACT
<h3>Introduction:</h3> The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy a laparoscopy-assisted surgical staging with traditional laparotomy for treatment endometrial cancer. <h3>Methods:</h3> We retrospectively analyzed medical records 465 patients adenocarcinoma treated by surgery between January 1996 and December 2007. <h3>Results:</h3> There were no significant differences laparoscopy groups in age, body mass index, histologic type. However, group, grade stage higher, diseases more chronic, postoperative adjuvant treatments necessary. One hundred seven (76.4%) 140 group 260 (80.0%) 325 had lymphadenectomy, median numbers pelvic paraaortic lymph nodes obtained not statistically different. showed shorter hospital stay lower blood loss, operating time also than that group. difference intraoperative or complications, operative technique did influence survival rates after adjusting several confounding factors. <h3>Conclusions:</h3> Our data 12 years large number show complications impacts on laparotomy. Laparoscopy has advantages other over previously reported. Therefore, can be considered good therapeutic option
