ABSTRACT
Boron nitride ( BN )‐based ceramics are often used as containment refractory in thin‐strip steel production. The interaction of this material ‐ Z r O 2 S i C :‐ MYCROSINT ® SO 43) was studied using a steel‐inclusion system laboratory setup. Isothermal tests were performed to evaluate the inclusions with refractory. It determined that corrosion occurs through dissolution mechanism and it more severe contact compared slag. A thermodynamic model developed F act age study change liquid steel/slag composition interaction. Thermodynamic predictions agreement experimental data obtained isothermal tests.
