ABSTRACT
Abstract In this work, MgO‐MgAl 2 O 4 ceramic filters were fabricated from microporous MgO powder and α‐Al 3 micro‐powder, in which was prepared using Mg(OH) as initial raw material. With the micro‐powder content increased 0 to 15 wt%, tight packing reaction sintering between microparticles Al promoted formation growth of magnesium aluminate spinel necks, reduced apparent porosity filter skeletons, decreased pore size, improved strength filters. When further raised 20 thermal mismatch caused a small amount crack generation, lowered filter. Besides, after introducing more necks produced due solid dissolved lattice during shock test, enhanced resistance had excellent comprehensive performance, bulk density skeleton 3.09 g/cm 10.7%, compressive before test 3.48 3.70 MPa, respectively.
