ABSTRACT
Introduction The use of psychostimulant drugs to increase academic success is common among young people. There no study examining this issue in Turkish population. In study, the prevalence, attitudes, knowledge, and ethical evaluations Pharmacological Cognitive Enhancement (PCE) university students were investigated. Method A structured online survey was carried out with 1148 undergraduate postgraduate (master, PhD residency) different faculties Medicine, Dentistry Pharmacy Turkey. Comparisons between groups, correlation regression analysis about associated variables made. Results general prevalence PCE our found be 7.4%. highest seen faculty medicine (8.4%), residency (15.5%). significant difference faculties. Education level, smoking, performance satisfaction, knowledge level factors PCE. Around 40% users stated that they used it recommendation their friends. had a lower perception harm risk, rated as more acceptable normal behaviour. Conclusion method by high low success, especially during exam periods. Peer effect an important factor increasing prevalence.
