ABSTRACT
An important role of transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) in the development regulatory T cells is well established. Although integrin-mediated activation latent TGF-β1 considered essential for induction (Treg) by antigen-presenting (APCs), such an mechanism not applicable to TGF-β2 isoform, which lacks integrin-binding RGD sequence its latency-associated peptide. Mucosal and ocular tissues harbour TGF-β2-expressing APCs involved Treg induction. The mechanisms that regulate TGF-β remain unclear. In this study, we demonstrate murine exposed environment predominantly increase expression TGF-β2. Such use thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) as integrin-independent activate their newly synthesized induce Foxp3(+) both vitro vivo. Expression supported a TSP-1 receptor, CD36, facilitates during antigen presentation. Our results suggest APC-derived adaptive immune response induced similar those located at mucosal sites. These findings introduce integral part peripheral tolerance associated with tissues.
