Role of hospital anxiety and depression on the healing of chronic leg ulcer: A prospective study

ABSTRACT
Abstract A chronic leg ulcer is a debilitating illness, owing to the local condition of wound and decrease in physical activity productivity, resulting anxiety depression among patients. The study aimed find any association healing wounds. total 125 patients with ulcers were enrolled study. HADS questionnaire assessment followed examination all follow‐up was done after appropriate treatment, data analysed scale. In present study, ROC curve showed cutoff value 14 for score predicting status (non‐healing vs healed) 30 days. 54.4% (68) had ≥ 39% (49) true positive non‐healing at 1‐month follow‐up. This revealed sensitivity specificity 83.1% 71.2%, respectively ( P ‐value <.001), diagnostic accuracy 76.8%, > detection ulcers. Chronic should be subjected if found significant corrective measures must instituted improving healing.
