ABSTRACT
We used maximum likelihood analysis of complete mitochondrial ND2 sequences (1041 bp) to clarify the taxonomy and relationships various species genera grass bush warblers. The tree revealed two clades One clade was comprised all four western Palearctic Locustella Asian Bradypterus . other included five eastern (including distinctive Sakhalin warbler amnicola ) marsh grassbird Megalurus pryeri African Australian little gramineus were distantly related their congeners. Therefore, current these does not reflect evolutionary history needs revision. It is proposed that a phylogenetic morphology ecological preferences would show warblers reflects species’ habitat locomotion foraging in habitats, rather than shared ancestry. Distinct found grasshopper naevia Pallas's L. certhiola Detailed phylogeographic studies are needed elucidate status within species.
