ABSTRACT
The metaphor of "Frankenfood" rapidly spread into popular use at the end 1990s, to extent that it was even added New Oxford Dictionary Phrase and Fable, 2000 edition. gained wide popularity least partly because active campaigns various NGOs on their Web pages. also widely used in more informal e-mail newsgroups Web, seemed provide common ground for different discourses. In this article, I explore way metaphors relate discourses Internet. This approach may open up new ways analyzing both network structure Internet, substantial aspects debate within network. first follow development over time, then map uses by sites Web. aim is discuss role as tools communication combining diachronic analysis expanding around with static snapshots main sites' textual structure.
