ABSTRACT
Lead zirconate titanate (PZT) (52/48) powders were prepared by a sol–gel process, using different raw materials to introduce the lead component together with several solvents and chemical modifying agents. A study of effect these variables on crystallization behavior was conducted determine best conditions for preparing monophasic submicrometer‐sized PZT perovskite in morphotropic region. In present work, well‐crystallized, single‐phase obtained after heat treatment at 600°C 1 h. The dependence this temperature preparation observed. sol–gel‐derived sintered ∼96% relative density 2 h 950°–970°C. ceramics exhibited dielectric permittivity 1000, piezoelectric coefficient 135 pC·N −1 , remanent polarization 20 μC·cm −2 coercive field 10.6 kV·cm .
