ABSTRACT
Inheritance of resistance to anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum capsici (Syd.) Butler & Bisby was studied in interspecific Capsicum populations derived from a cross between Thai elite cultivar annuum L.'Bangchang' and resistant line C. chinense Jacq.'PBC932′. The assessed measuring lesion area per fruit (LFA) on detached chili fruits, using laboratory-based injection inoculation. Nil symptoms resembling the parent 'PBC932' were also identified progeny F2 BC1 populations. Segregation (nil LFA) susceptibility fitted 1: 3 Mendelian ratio, indicating that responsible single recessive gene. segregation trait testcrosses both BC1s confirmed gene segregating model as found F2.
