ABSTRACT
Summary— The reports of routine pre‐operative imaging investigations performed on patients presenting with symptoms uncomplicated benign prostatic hypertrophy were compared management decisions and clinical outcome. In 175 prostatism no urological abnormality which altered was discovered plain films the abdomen pelvis ultrasound urinary tract routinely. Post‐micturition residual volume (PMRV), estimated by ultrasound, maximum urine flow rate (Q max) in 57 patients. PMRV showed negative correlation Q max. Both high low max associated urologist's decision to operate, but multiple logistic regression revealed that not a significant predictor operation when adjusted for Urologists this hospital therefore use rates as primary indication need operate.
