ABSTRACT
Drawing on cultural–ecological and person–environment fit perspectives, this study examined links among Mexican‐American adolescents' time with peers parents, parents' cultural orientations, psychosocial adjustment orientations. Participants were 492 adolescents ( M s=15.7 12.8 years for older siblings younger siblings) their parents in 246 families. Family members described family relationships, functioning home interviews, time‐use data collected during a series of nightly phone calls. spent the majority peer Mexican youth. Some support was found hypothesis that mismatch between orientations involvement is linked to functioning.
