ABSTRACT
Social support is believed to be a universally valuable resource for combating stress, yet Asians and Asian Americans report that social not helpful them, resist seeking it, are underrepresented among recipients of supportive services. We distinguish between explicit (seeking using advice emotional solace) implicit (focusing on valued groups) show psychologically biologically benefited more by than support; the reverse true European Americans.
