ABSTRACT
A spatially distributed water balance model was used to assess the influence of regional land use and cover change in a poorly gauged basin for years 1975 2000. To carry out this study Cuitzeo Lake Michoacan, Mexico, remote sensing geographic information system tools were integrated model. In addition, transition matrix analysis determine dynamic categories related hydrologic processes. The components, based on landforms matrix, indicated tendency improvement conditions basin. As consequence urban growth, however, plains footslopes showed an increase runoff values. both years, topographic lower sections exhibited high demand from increased use, along with degradation Lake, particularly by pollution reduction supply. approach here is suitable understanding quantity spatial distribution available basins.
