ABSTRACT
To investigate whether the intravenous urogram used in an appropriate setting is a valuable investigation for managing severe loin pain pregnancy.Prospective observational study.University teaching hospital.Fifteen pregnant women referred with pain.A prospective study collecting data over 24-month period was performed. Women believed to be of renal origin that had failed respond conservative treatment were by their obstetricians. The performed consisted two-film series (plain film and 20-minute postmicturition film).Management pregnancy based on findings urogram.Over two-year period, 15 at median gestation 32 weeks (24-36 weeks). All undergone prior urinary tract ultrasound examination within 24 hours referral, which showed dilatation symptomatic side 15/15 cases. confirmed ipsilateral 14/15 cases revealed level all these Delayed excretion contrast seen Three patients obstructing ureteric calculi one patient non-dilated non-obstructed system.An safe setting. It allows accurate diagnosis made instigated joint decisions from urologic, obstetric radiologic teams. This multidisciplinary approach care can specifically tailored individual patient, we feel safer both mother baby.
