ABSTRACT
We have constructed a conditional null mutant Candida albicans strain for the UBI3 gene which encodes ubiquitin fusion protein involved in ribosome biogenesis. A one-step disruption procedure, using plasmid pCaDis, was designed to place second copy of under control tightly regulated MET3 promoter C. heterozygous (UBI3/Δubi3::hisG), previously isolated first step ura-blaster protocol. Analysis repressing and inducing conditions indicates that is an essential whose expression required growth albicans.
