ABSTRACT
Most of the 16S ribosomal RNA gene a sulfate-reducing magnetic bacterium, RS-1, was sequenced, and phylogenetic analysis carried out. The results suggest that RS-1 is member delta-Proteobacteria, it appears to represent new genus. first bacterium reported outside alpha-Proteobacteria contains magnetite inclusions. therefore disrupts correlation between possession inclusions, delta-Proteobacteria greigite existence also suggests intracellular biomineralization multiple evolutionary origins.
