ABSTRACT
Quantifying qualitative data as part of mixed-methods research (MMR) can add to the study results' analysis. Comparable results may reinforce conclusions, while differences hold an opportunity for in-depth discussion. To date, there is little guidance researchers seeking quantify their data.Describing conversion quantitative values, comparison with matched questionnaire results, discussing benefits this process and MMR design. We describe in detail how from 46 interviews were converted into values (i.e., quantitative-qualitative QQVs) using design, enabling a questionnaires obtained same participants. This was embedded larger on family-caregivers caring people-with-end-stage-dementia conducted between years 2020-2021.A QQV generated three main themes compared questionnaires' scores regarding topics. There no significant 'satisfaction nurses physicians care', 'discussion about end-of-life care'. However, 'burden', score significantly higher than score. We described use design produce compare scores. methodology allow further valuable discussion if are either similar or not, better integration easier presentation results. conclusions both parts study, meaning context. Although we claim that be structure contribute discussion's depth, it by means replaces traditional design. No patient public contribution.
