Assessing women's and health professionals' views on developing a midwifery‐led mobile health app intervention in pregnancy: A descriptive qualitative study

ABSTRACT
Abstract Aims To explore women's and health professionals' views on the development of a midwifery‐led mHealth app intervention in antenatal care their demands for functionality. Design Descriptive qualitative research was utilized. Methods In total, 15 pregnant or postpartum women were interviewed via in‐depth interviews 10 professionals including obstetricians, midwives obstetric nurses invited to participate focus group discussion (FGD). All FGD analysed using content analysis. Results Four key themes emerged from data, (1) limitations current maternity services; (2) potential benefits app‐based midwifery care; (3) possible challenges providing through apps (4) suggestions needs developing app. Participants agreed need increase access services meet diverse needs. preferred develop professional, reliable, full‐featured interactive mobile applications. The main functions included personalized assessment education, self‐monitoring feedback, data sharing functions. Women mentioned that online communication consultation with could help them receive continuous support outside facilities.
