ABSTRACT
Deferasirox has nephrotoxic effects in the context of chronic therapy. This case report illustrates proximal tubular dysfunction (Fanconi syndrome) due to an acute deferasirox overdose. In response, we trialled plasmapheresis eliminate drug. levels were obtained three rounds plasmapheresis. Given half-life model decay, concluded that may not have been successful. The patient ultimately recovered normal function after 2 months. This is first describe deferasirox-induced nephrotoxicity, and application that, ultimately, did change typical time recovery.
