ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Psoriasis patients have relatively infrequent cutaneous viral infections compared to atopic dermatitis patients. Increased expression of four antiviral proteins ( MX 1, BST 2, ISG 15 and OAS 2) has been reported in psoriatic skin genetic studies psoriasis identified susceptibility genes pathways. Objective To determine if is associated with pervasive blood. Methods We performed RNA sequencing on samples 18 subjects chronic plaque 16 healthy controls. examined the a predefined set 42 genes, each which shown previous inhibit replication. In parallel, we gene dermatitis, non‐lesional HIV ‐1 infectivity assays CD 4+ peripheral blood T cells from individuals. Results observed significant overexpression lesional skin, greater than two‐fold increase 15, RSAD IRF 7, 2 TRIM 22 P < 1E‐07). None these was overexpressed 0.0001) or skin. contrast compartment, no differences were detected cases both supported infection at similar rate. Conclusion Our findings highlight as an inflammatory disease but not systemic immune activation against pathogens.
