ABSTRACT
The identification of fish larvae from two neotropical hydrographic basins using traditional morphological taxonomy and DNA barcoding revealed no conflicting results between the barcode larvae. A lower rate (25%) correct eggs as belonging to migratory or non‐migratory species was achieved. Accurate ichthyoplankton by is an important tool for reproductive behaviour studies, estimation biodiversity detecting rare species, well defining environmental management strategies conservation in neotropics.
