ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to test if changes in land use alter the isotopic signature fish species, promoting trophic position and food resource partitioning between these consumers. Three different systems were investigated: pasture streams ( n = 3), sugar cane plantations 3) reference 3). Fish species Aspidoras fuscoguttatus , Astyanax altiparanae Characidium zebra Hisonotus piracanjuba Knodus moenkhausii selected, their nitrogen carbon compositions estimated assess level items consumed. composition δ 13 C (‰) only differed among categories for A. H. K. moenkhausii. Resource all with sources or proportions they consumed each category, but introduced new large quantity altered uses. It is important note, however, that results from analysis are limited due overlapping signatures analysed resources. All exhibited variation 15 N (‰), highest values found under influence. Despite values, C. displayed level. Therefore, it believed increase value individuals collected influence greater livestock dung chemical organic fertilizers. also highlight importance studying consumer along forms resources available at location separately, because vary within
