ABSTRACT
"Golden delicious" apples were dipped in 100 mg/L acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM) to investigate the fruit quality and softening during 12 days of storage. Weight loss, flesh firmness, ethylene release, respiratory rate, content total soluble solids titratable acid, activity pectinase, cellulase, β-glucosidase, water-insoluble pectin water-soluble contents investigated. The results demonstrated that ASM treatment inhibited release reduced acidity, enhanced apples. Moreover, application suppressed reduction methylesterase, polygalacturonase. Cellulase, degradation protopectin apple also by In conclusion, could maintain regulating cell wall-degrading enzymes Practical applications Application after harvest has potential delaying enzymes, thus retain quality.
