ABSTRACT
We aimed to evaluate the effect of dried Ziziphus vulgaris [Z. vulgaris] consumption on liver enzymes, blood pressure, inflammatory status, glycemic control, and lipid concentrations in type 2 diabetes patients. Seventy-six diabetic participants (aged 20–65 years) randomly assigned intervention (n = 38) placebo groups. The group received 30 g/day Z. for 12 weeks. At end study, there was a significant reduction percentage change weight, body mass index [BMI], insulin, homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance [HOMA-IR], Apoprotein B100 [ApoB100], high-sensitive c-reactive protein [hs-CRP] compared controls. Also, increased values quantitative insulin check [QUICKI] A-I [ApoA-I] controls were observed. In conclusion, fruit could have beneficial effects improving control reducing cardiovascular risk factors Practical applications present study we found that patients with weeks has anti-inflammatory, anti-hyperglycemic, anti-hyperlipidemic mellitus [T2DM] group. Thus, it seems reasonable design large-scale clinical trial determine potential adverse higher doses this identify therapeutic complementary treatment T2DM medication. medication popular as an ingredient be easily accepted by may reduce dependency dosage some routine medications which often side effects.
