ABSTRACT
Abstract Thyroid tissue in teleosts is located mainly the pharyngeal region, usually reaching other adjacent anatomical locations. Herein, a nodular lesion left operculum of Senegal seabream ( Diplodus bellottii ) was surgically excised and sent for microscopical evaluation. Microscopically, presented irregular borders consisted columnar epithelial cells arranged tubulopapillary pattern, surrounding central lumen filled with acellular, acidophilic homogeneous, material (‘colloid’). To determine lesion's histogenesis, immunohistochemistry performed employing antibodies AE1/AE3, CK7, thyroglobulin vimentin. The neoplastic low mitotic index positive immunolabelling CK7 thyroglobulin. Therefore, diagnosis ectopic thyroid adenoma made. successful employment classically used mammals accurate disorders described. Proliferation fish may reflect environmental physiological imbalances, making study correct these tumours this species important.
