ABSTRACT
Abstract Extreme flood events are becoming more frequent and challenging due to climate change. Key objectives of this study evaluate different criteria used in assessing the hazard people during and, once determined, most suitable method is then assess safest route(s) for evacuation a event particular case study. The results application two analysed terms assessment with being based on widely empirical approach mechanics approach. Both an extreme flash flood, which occurred 16th August 2004 Boscastle (UK). Results obtained have highlighted that preferable identifying ideal escape routes, when considering characteristics corresponding response human body. main novelty lies linking rating body characteristics, determining route revised formula developed, includes effects ground slope real
