ABSTRACT
Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation, a critical event in liver fibrosis, has been recently shown to be related autophagy. Determine whether chloroquine (CQ) could affect (i) the activation of HSC vivo and (ii) hepatic damage mice acute injury model. The was induced BALB/c by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4 group); 24 h before after CCl4 administration animals were treated CQ + group). As control, olive oil considered. After 48 from /olive administration, blood samples, tissues, HSCs harvested for analysis. In vivo, attenuates -induced as evidenced reduction enlargement, swelling necrosis also supported certain decrease circulating transaminases level, (iii) fibrosis evaluated collagen deposition α-sma protein expression. In isolated group, we observed inhibition autophagy proved increase p62 lc3 protein. addition, reduced expression markers α-sma/collagen-I down-regulated proliferative marker ki67.The attenuation exerted together with proliferation can lessen potentially opening way novel therapeutic approaches fibrosis.
