ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Panicle exsertion is one of the crucial agronomic traits in rice ( Oryza sativa ). Shortening panicle often leads to enclosure and severely reduces seed production. Gibberellin (GA) plays important roles regulating exsertion. However, underlying mechanism relative regulatory network remain elusive. Here, we characterized oswrky78 mutant showing severe enclosure, found that defect caused by decreased bioactive GA contents. Biochemical analysis demonstrates OsWRKY78 can directly activate biosynthesis indirectly suppress metabolism. Moreover, interact with be phosphorylated mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK) OsMAPK6, this phosphorylation enhance stability necessary for its biological function. Taken together, these results not only reveal critical function OsWRKY78, but also via mediating crosstalk between MAPK signaling pathway
