ABSTRACT
Abstract Background This study examined the psychometric properties of Group Climate Instrument (GCI) in a sample N = 189 adults (79% men) with mild intellectual disability or borderline functioning who were residents treatment facility Netherlands. Method Construct validity GCI was by means confirmatory factor analysis. Also, reliability and convergent examined. We also variability perception living group climate between within groups computing intraclass correlation coefficients. Results The model contained four first‐order factors (support, growth, atmosphere repression) second‐order overall climate, providing preliminary support for construct GCI. Reliability coefficients good all factors. Preliminary evidence found significant moderate associations subscales single item ratings climate. indicated that considerate proportion variance can be attributed to between‐group differences. Conclusions might used assess individuals psychiatric forensic care settings, although further development replication our findings seem necessary.
