ABSTRACT
Abstract Objective The risk for the development of severe behaviour problems by individuals with intellectual disability (ID) is a well‐known concern. However, there are currently no reliable instruments assessing these behaviours in French. Behaviour Problems Inventory – Short Form (BPI‐S) assesses three types people ID: self‐injurious (eight items), aggressive/destructive (10 items) and stereotypic (12 items). purpose this study was to conduct psychometric French version BPI‐S. Method Data were collected on 305 children, adolescents young adults ID 50 care workers seven specialised institutions France as informants. We examined scale's factorial structure (using confirmatory factor analysis), internal consistency inter‐rater reliability. also established preliminary norms. Results Our results show that BPI‐S has similar English version.
