ABSTRACT
Family functioning, particularly among primary family caregivers for patients with schizophrenia, is a global concern that poses unprecedented challenges. The unit pivotal agent the preservation of integrity individual members. Little attention has been paid to changes in functioning and their predictors caregivers. This study aimed examine correlates individuals schizophrenia over 6-month post-discharge period.A prospective, longitudinal was conducted.A total 58 were recruited from two psychiatric hospitals Taiwan. Data collected four times, including 1 week before hospital discharge at 1-, 3-, intervals post-discharge. Demographic clinical questionnaires, Affiliate Stigma Scale, Empowerment General Functioning subscale used collect data. Generalized Estimating Equations applied data analysis.Approximately 59.6%-77.6% presented unhealthy during period. Significant reductions noted group functioning; however, remained unchanged healthy 6 months. stigma empowerment significantly accounted groups respectively.This highlights affiliate as long-term targets mental health care.Family-centered interventions focus on ameliorating enhancing are recommended improve different periods after discharge.
