ABSTRACT
Abstract Purpose The study was carried out to investigate the effect of motivational interviewing on peer bullying and cyberbullying among adolescents. Design A parallel‐group randomized controlled trial. Methods population consisted ninth‐grade (aged 14 years) high school students ( n = 200). completed with 48 participants (intervention: 24; control: 24). data were collected using Participant Information Form, Stages Change Questionnaire, Peer Bullying Scale, Cyberbullying Scale. intervention group received a preparatory session five weekly sessions. Instruments administered both groups before intervention, at end last (post‐test), 3rd‐ 6th‐month follow‐ups. analyzed chi‐square test, independent sample t‐test, two‐way mixed‐design ANOVA Bonferroni's test. Results In pre‐test, no statistically significant difference observed between control regarding mean scores for p > 0.05). Following sessions, adolescents in had significantly lower score than post‐test follow‐up tests < 0.001).
