ABSTRACT
Hydatid pulmonary embolism (HPE) is rare but remains an etiology that needs to be considered and kept in mind, especially endemic areas, as regards nonthrombotic embolism.Between 2000 2014, 10 patients were treated our department for the presence of hydatid material arterial circulation. Through these cases, we try assess radioclinical characteristics results surgical treatment.The study included six men four women, average age 28 years. Discovery HPE was made following exploration cardiorespiratory symptoms nine cases incidental a single patient. Computed tomography angiography (CTA) chest directly visualized arteries cases. Surgery consisted embolectomy under cardiopulmonary bypass This preceded by treatment embolic cyst (HC) seven (HCs right heart chambers liver HC ruptured inferior vena cava one case), whereas only patient, who presented pedunculated ventricle protruding into artery, cure cardiac location sufficient. Only patient died on third postoperative day.Endoluminal involvement extremely rare. CTA has important contribution positive diagnosis. Treatment when patient's condition allows it.
